Chapter 6 & Chapter 11 Responses

Chapter 6 Response:

As a teacher having an abundant amount of technological resources and devices inside the classroom benefits students and teachers in a variety of ways. I personally would love working in a classroom with a large amount of digital technologies and having the opportunity to teach my future students by using these products. Having a device such as a digital camera or scanner would help me as a teacher show my students pictures out of books, magazines and in real life to show them exactly what they are learning. By using a digital camera I can help my future students create a  memory tool to help them learn and remember important information. I would love the opportunity when I am a teacher to have the resource of using a wireless device such as a microphone inside my classroom. That way I can make sure that all my students can hear and understand important information that I am relaying to them. This is especially helpful for students who suffer from learning or hearing disabilities and gives these students a better learning environment to work in. Overall, I would love to have a classroom that is full of technology and digital learning devices so that I can eventually help my future students learn and understand all the incredible information and cool facts that technology helps become assessable inside and outside the classroom.

Chapter 11 Response:

In the classroom any existing or brand new technology is beneficial if it has the power to help children learn and under information, especially if it will help them become successful within school. An example of a traditional visual technology from our book that I could use inside my classroom could be an overhead projector. I could use an overhead project to show transparent graphs, charts and other instructional material to my class to help me target instructional class objectives. A popular emerging visual technology that I would be able to use greatly inside my classroom could be a document camera. This new technology has the same capabilities as an overhead projector but without the hassle of making transparency. In my classroom I would be able to display actual photos, 3-D objects and video images on the board all in real time making it more comprehend-able  for my students to understand.

A traditional audio technology from our book that I could use inside my classroom would be a cassette tape recorder. I would be able to have my students listen to books, movies and even plays recorded for them by actual people who are reading the story, movie or play to them. An emerging new audio technology that I could use inside my classroom could be devices such as a Ipod or MP3 player. Which are digital audio devices that are similar to a tape recorder but, are able to hold a large amount of digital audio files. These devices also, have the capability of being able reproduced and and share digital stored material in a variety of ways. Making them much more assessable for students to use and re-use time and time again. Overall,I would be able to use all of these devices inside my classroom to help my students learn and interact and understand needed material top help them achieve success.
